Pepper Vine

This pepper vine was sourced originally from Sikwood Pepper Farm (now Aussie Pepper Farm). The largest producer of pepper in Australia.

Piper nigrum produces our common eating pepper. It is a extremely vigorous grower during summer and very generous with the production of peppercorns. Immature fruits can be picked as green pepper. Black pepper is dried fruit with the skin left on it. White pepper is the dried seed only with skin removed.

Black pepper is the worlds most widely traded spice. Once you try the strong sharp taste of fresh pepper you will never go back to store bought that is often harvested up to a year before it hits Australia's shores. It can be grown south of Brisbane but will need to be taken in doors or kept in a hothouse over winter.
