Ice Cream Bean Tree is a large nitrogen fixing tree which produces bean pods up to 1 metre long which contain sweet, juicy, white pulp that has a soft cotton wool texture and tastes of vanilla ice-cream. This is a very popular tree for permaculturists and as a nurse tree in fruit orchards. It can also be cut back regularly and used as mulch or used as a emergency fodder plant.
The tree itself is quite attractive with open spreading branchs and pom pom like flowers.
This is a perfect quick shade plant so we are doing bulk buy specials.

12 October 2018The plant was a good size and well packaged - it arrived in excellent condition. I've purchased a lot of tropical fruit plants during the last two months - I wish I'd ordered all of them from Elarish Tropical Exotics ~ they obviously have very high standards!
