Super Rare Subtropical Ginger from India
This stunning ginger is from a new genus of gingers only described in 2010. The overall distribution of the genus covers a large area of sub-Himalayan forests in northeastern Bangladesh, the Indian states of Meghalaya and Assam, the northern border of Arunachal Pradesh, and into upper Myanmar.
The plant grows to 1.5 meters and has cooregated leaves. The flowers are white tinged with green. It is sometimes called the "Praying Mantis Ginger"
The best thing about this ginger is that it grows well in the subtropics and has been tested as far south as Brisbane.
