Must have for ginger collectors! Etlingera corneri is native to Malaysia and thrives in a tropical subtropical climate in part shade with bright light. It can be picky in it's requirements, so please be aware! It can also be grown as a pot plant.
The leaves get to about 2m max and the flower bracts come out from the base and are a long lasting riotous spring summer display of crimson gorgeousness. The main structure is composed of modified leaves (bracts) that look like waxy red rose petals. Later, the less conspicuous and much more short-lived flowers appear between the bracts.
Hard to propagate, we only have a few in stock.
